The grandma who died in Thursday’s shooting at a Publix grocery store in Florida had attempted to bravely prevent the gunman ahead of she was shot, authorities said Friday.
The 69-calendar year-previous unknown girl and her 1-calendar year-previous grandson were being both of those killed in the Royal Palm Seashore Publix Grocery store by gunman Timothy J. Wall, 55, who then killed himself, the Palm Seashore Sheriff’s Business recounted in a collection of tweets.
“Suspect enters the develop portion in which the victims were being and requires out his gun,” the PBSO tweeted.
“He shoots the baby,” a further tweet states. “The grandmother interferes with the gunman and simply because of her courageous steps, his gun jams.
“After some battling, he then ends up capturing the grandmother and then himself.

The business pointed out Wall experienced posted on Facebook that “he wished to destroy people and children” and that his “wife explained he was performing surprisingly and paranoid.”
On Thursday, the PBSO mentioned that Wall did not know the victims and that there wasn’t a known motive.
